Keith Fawkes has been selling vintage books and antiques from his Flask Walk shop for around sixty years. This painting captures one of Hampstead's best-known streets, with the familiar bookshop, a passing cyclist and the bustle of everyday village life. The coloured lights, wet pavement and historic buildings reflect the distinctive atmosphere that makes Flask Walk such a memorable corner of Hampstead.
